Vine Leaf Disease and AI

Every year, 3000 tonnes of pesticides are applied to German vineyards, the residues of which can be detected in the wine. Grape leaf diseases reduce the quantity and quality of the grapes and require the use of pesticides. By using AI, we make it possible to identify pests in diseased vine leaves at an early stage using mobile phone images. Early action can minimise the spread of pests, reduce the use of pesticides and protect the environment.
